If you’re looking for a great seafood spot with unbeatable views of Monterey Bay, The Fish Hopper is a solid choice. The restaurant is clean, well-kept, and offers a relaxing, coastal ambiance — perfect for a lunch or dinner with a view of the ocean (you might even spot sea lions or otters while you eat). The food is fresh and flavorful, with a nice variety of seafood options. From clam chowder to fresh-caught fish, everything is well-prepared and presented nicely. Service is generally attentive and professional. That said, the prices are on the higher side — you’re definitely paying a bit extra for the location. Best calamari ever. Excellent service and beautiful views from every table. It had been 11 years since we visited Monterey. Always go to Fish Hopper on every visit since the 80s. Still one of the best restaurants in Monterey area. Great fresh seafood and excellent staff every single time. We visited several times on this August trip. We love the calamari, crisp, lightly breaded with best tartar sauce & cocktail sauce. We couldn't get enough. Our main dish was the special Macadamia crusted Halibut in a citrus buerre blanc with seasonal vegetables, sweet potatoes. SOOO DELICIOUS!! Highly recommended. Do not miss a meal at Fish Hopper when in Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove area! So many years of consistently great food and service. Someday we hope they offer shipping to Colorado.

Great location with nice views. The food is good. I tried the clam chowder. Was nice. A bit creamy. The fish and chips and salads are good. Overall good experience and will come back again.

We ordered steak and sea bass. Both taste heavenly. Really appreciate Sebastian’s wonderful Service. It’s a wonderful culinary experience. Will definitely come back in the future

If you're not lured in by the smell, its ocean dining view will bring you in for sure. Rafael made our experience very smooth l. Fish hopper well deserves its rating of the best restaurant on Cannery row. The drink selections are amazingly fun, and the portion sizes are absolutely worth the price.

Chelsea and Javier at the bar were very friendly and hands down provided the most amazing service. They also really went above and beyond for some of my special drink requests and also substitution of sides for one of our dinners. Also, if you are a local with local id the locals menu is great. A variety of entrees all for under 25 bucks that includes dessert and salad or soup.

Had an amazing meal at The Fish Hopper! I ordered the whole sea bass, and it was beautifully cooked—crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside. We also shared a steak, which was juicy and perfectly seared. For dessert, the tiramisu was light, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending. I also got the sangria, and it was super refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. The ocean views made everything even better—definitely a memorable dining experience! What really made the night even better was the service—everyone was super friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. You can’t beat the oceanfront view either. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and great hospitality—this spot is a must-visit!

This place has an incredible array of fresh seafood in a prime location. If you’re lucky you’ be seated by the large windows with an awesome view of the bay, where you can see the local wildlife (birds, seals, otters, etc). The service is quick and friendly! We forgot our credit card, and came back and they readily gave it back to us!
